B’nai B’rith Housing is working on a residential development which is part of the planned development at Sharon Commons in Sharon, MA. Our plan is to create a community of 70 apartment homes in a single four story building. In addition, there will be a number of community spaces located within and outside the building to serve its residents. The development will provide opportunities for individuals and households to live in a well-built, well-managed environment in a wonderful location.
Overall at Sharon Commons, there are multiple uses and housing types proposed in this clustered development which is within easy walking and biking distance to nearby jobs, grocery and retail services associated with existing or new commercial businesses. The new Sharon Commons lifestyle retail complex will be directly across the street and additional services and grocery services are a quick walk away. Extensive open space and conservation land resources are also immediately adjacent to the property.
All of the units (100%) will be available to low and moderate income households who might otherwise be priced out of the community. The creation of affordable housing in an established neighborhood such as Sharon Heights with local retail and high quality services will enable low and moderate income families to share the community benefits of living in Sharon. Given the demand for high quality rental housing in Sharon for all price points, but particularly for those of limited means, this development will provide a much needed wonderful housing option for professionals, young families, municipal employees and empty nesters, among others.
