Susan became the Founding Executive Director of B’nai B’rith Housing in 2003. She has over twenty-five years of progressively responsible experience in real estate development, neighborhood revitalization, and nonprofit management. Susan is a legacy member of CREW Boston and sits on the Housing & Economic Development Council of the Urban Land Institute Boston/New England. She has been recognized for her leadership and public service by CREW Boston, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Leadership Institute, and Banker & Tradesman as a Woman of FIRE. She has served as an Opinion Editor Columnist for Banker & Tradesman since 2012. Susan holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College. Read Susan’s op-eds here.
Holly is responsible for managing the organization’s affordable housing work, including the design, permitting, financing and construction of new developments. Prior to joining B’nai B’rith Housing, she worked with a commercial real estate company. Holly holds a Master’s degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree from Williams College.
Max is responsible for the acquisition, financing, and development of affordable housing in Greater Boston. Prior to BBH, Max worked at the US Government Accountability Office, where he focused on housing policy analysis. Max has also worked as a consultant at Deloitte and a project manager at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from NYU. While originally from New York, Max enjoys living in Boston and now roots for the Celtics and Red Sox.
Heather drives strategy and planning for all of BBH’s fundraising and outreach initiatives. She has been working with nonprofits for more than 25 years, the last nine as a consultant helping more than 60 local and national organizations build capacity and thrive. She is a proud graduate of Boston University and lives in Newton with her two wonderful children.
Naomi oversees communications and outreach, as well as fundraising efforts and events. She brings with her over a decade of marketing, sales, and customer relations experience in nonprofit, retail, and commercial real estate settings. Naomi is committed to improving lives through art, culture, and wellness experiences. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster and postgraduate degree in Graphic & Web Design from Boston University.
Paige helps strengthen the BBH mission and brand through events and community outreach activities. She comes to this role with a background in operations, sales and event production in catering and museum settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Gastronomy and Certificate in Cheese from Boston University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University.
Melissa De Oliveira Assis
Melissa provides financial, IT, operational, executive, and team support to the organization. Before joining BBH, Melissa managed a private ESL school in Boston providing English programs to international students from all over the world. Melissa is bilingual (Spanish) and is pursuing her second Master’s degree in IT.
